Who We Are

OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to help families experiencing homelessness and low income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

OUR PURPOSE
Our Purpose is to be an organization of staff and volunteers dedicated to providing support and resources to children and their families facing homelessness.

Family Promise of Great Falls is a 501©(3) organization committed to ending childhood homelessness one family at a time. We are one of over 250 affiliated throughout the United States that provide the following programs to fulfill our mission and purpose:

Eviction Prevention: We provide advocacy and mediation services to help families with children remain in their current safe living arrangement so that the children do not experience the trauma of entering a shelter.

Emergency Shelter: When families cannot secure safe living arrangements, we provide shelter at area hotels until a more permanent and safe housing arrangement can be secured.

Housing: We provide Interim Housing at Promise Place for families who are committed to abiding by our guest policies which include securing employment or stable income, enrolling their school aged children in school and monitoring attendance, saving for and completing a financial plan for stable housing and long-term financial independence.

Stabilization (Journey Curriculum): To ensure that families do not slip back into homelessness, we provide stabilization services such as financial assistance with unplanned auto repair, daycare, household repair or medical expenses. Additionally, we added the Journey Curriculum which utilizes Mobility Mentoring ®, a model designed by EMPath that will allow us to further monitor and celebrate each family's success, significantly enhancing their prospects for long-term stability.

Day Center: All families with children are welcome to take showers, do their laundry, have a warm meal , utilize our internet to apply for jobs or housing and enjoy a quiet respite at our Day Center.

WE BELIEVE
  • In loving others without expectation or exception.
  • That families are most successful in their own home.
  • That we provide a hand up not a hand out.
  • That families improve their situation with hope.
  • That our faith is best served in action.
  • That we play an important role in the journey of our families.
  • That our community supports children and families.
